The aim of the GPACC is to improve the health outcomes of patients with heart disease. It was started in 2015 and currently encompasses a 6-bed cardiac intensive care unit (CICU), a 6-bed step-down unit, a heart function clinic, a cardiology clinic, and an in-patient ward cardiology service. We have an active echo and treadmill lab. We are training nurses and physicians on an on-going basis with the hope of training more allied health care professionals in the future.
This website was launched in March 2016 and designed for use by the physicians of Georgetown Public Hospital in Georgetown, Guyana, as a tool for managing patient records and tracking patient care within the cardiology service.
This project is supported by the Libin Cardiovascular Institute of Alberta at the University of Calgary in Calgary, Canada.
This site was designed by Dr. Mikhail Klassen and Dr. Sheila Klassen.
